Description

The third single from Paradise and the eighth single overall from Born to Die, was announced as " Cola" on November 14, 2012. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. Whereas Born to Die was self-conscious and chart hungry, Paradise allows Lana the freedom to get a little more daring and fully indulge in her love of David Lynch.

John Bush of AllMusic commented that the EP kept the glacial string arrangements and slow drums that characterized the cinematic atmosphere of Born to Die, while improving in terms of vocals. Discover the 2012 Paradise EP by Lana Del Ray, an extension of the artist's iconic debut album Born To Die. Del Rey is in perfect control of her voice, much more assured than she was even one year ago, and frequently capable of astonishing her listeners. After numerous projects, including her self-titled debut studio album, Del Rey's breakthrough came in 2011 with the viral success of her single "Video Games"; she subsequently signed a recording contract with Polydor and Interscope.Disagreeing with this position, Carl Williot of Idolator said that "Yayo" should have been a single.

Was I the only one who thought that the track listing on the back implies that there are 3LPs inside? Charting across Europe, the EP became a top 10 hit in Flanders and Poland, charting within the top 20 in Wallonia and the Netherlands. When asked about the origin of the lyrics to "Cola", Del Rey said: "I have a Scottish boyfriend, and that's just what he says! Album fantastico, spero di aver la possibilità di prendere born to die perché sappiamo che è insieme a questo che il cofanetto è completo.

Alongside Paradise, Del Rey released a short film titled Tropico that featured the songs "Body Electric", "Gods and Monsters" and "Bel Air".

This song on the face of it anyway is a tale of redemption and asking forgiveness but it is reportedly about her love affair with Axl Rose from guns and roses due to some of the lyrics but I'll leave that up to you to decided. To be clear, you do not get both discs from the CD version of the special edition - there is no material from the original 'Born to Die' album here, just the material from the bonus/second disc 'Paradise', which I actually much prefer to the main album. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the EP has received an average score of 64, based on 9 reviews indicating "generally favorable reviews".A promotional video for "Burning Desire" appeared online on Valentine's Day 2013, featuring Del Rey as her usual lounge singer persona, interspersed with snippets of the Jaguar F-Type. I'm not gonna review the music as you probably like the album/artist already if your dropping money on a vinyl version. It was also my experience that "Body Electric" is at a lower volume than everything else and sounds like a poor quality mp3. First of all I'm not interested in the controversy surrounding Lana Del Rey because this woman is highly talented in my eyes anyway.

citation needed] In an interview with Tim Blackwell for radio station Nova 100 in Melbourne, Australia, Del Rey added that her upcoming November release would not be a new album, but more like an EP, which she described as the "Paradise Edition" of Born to Die. Sometimes though every now and then whilst I'm listen to this track I feel like i am intruding but that might be because it's so very personal. Lana Del Rey's direct influences were visual as well as musical; David Lynch, soundtracks for '50s black and white movies, the whirring sound of the Ferris at Coney Island, fame itself. Music videos for "Ride", "Blue Velvet", " Bel Air" and "Burning Desire" were posted to Vevo and YouTube to help promote the EP.Even before its release, the song "Cola" received media attention due to the controversial nature of its lyrics.
